Description
Ardbeg Corryvreckan from 2013 shows the distillery in one of its bolder modern forms. This is not a gentle Islay whisky. The peat smoke is firm and clearly defined with strong coastal character and plenty of energy in the glass. There is underlying sweetness to keep the power balanced together with enough depth to make it feel complete rather than simple. It is a bottle for people who enjoy Ardbeg when it is intense, characterful and confident.
