Description
Ardbeg 1975 30 Year Old, bottled at 46.1 percent for Douglas Laing’s Platinum Old & Rare series, is an exceptionally rare Islay single malt from a period when Ardbeg operated very differently from today. Distilled in 1975 and matured for three decades, this whisky comes from a time of sporadic production and a markedly more restrained house style. The peat is present but elegant, integrated into layers of coastal salinity, mineral notes, soft citrus and gentle smoke. Long ageing has added depth and texture without overpowering the spirit, allowing maturity and balance to define the profile. Selected for the Platinum series, this bottling represents the highest tier of Douglas Laing’s releases and is prized for both its rarity and its ability to capture historic Ardbeg character in a refined and composed form.
