rdbeg 25 Year Old, released in 2020 as an original distillery bottling, shows the distillery in a more mature register than most drinkers usually encounter. The long ageing allows the peat to settle into depth rather than sharpness, with a steadier, more composed Islay character. Oak influence, gentle sweetness and developed maritime tones sit alongside the still recognisable Ardbeg backbone, giving it weight without losing clarity. It feels like a carefully aged expression where time has broadened the spirit rather than transformed it.
