The Yamazaki Puncheon 2013 Single Malt is part of Suntory’s celebrated Cask Collection, created to showcase the influence of different oak types on Japan’s most iconic whisky. For this release, the spirit matured in large American white oak puncheon casks of around 480 liters, allowing for a slower and more delicate exchange between wood and whisky. The result is a refined expression with soft notes of vanilla, honey, and orchard fruits, layered with gentle spice and a rounded mouthfeel. Bottled at 48% and released only in limited quantities, this edition highlights the craftsmanship of Yamazaki’s coopers and blenders, offering a rare glimpse into the artistry that defines Japan’s pioneering distillery.
