Description
Brora 38 Year Old, bottled in 2016 as the 15th Release, is one of the rare official bottlings from the distillery’s long silent era. It forms part of the well-known sequence of annual Brora releases that ran from 2002 to 2017, a series of 16 editions in total. This 2016 bottling comes entirely from pre-closure spirit and was released in 2,984 bottles. In the glass it shows maturity, calm depth and clear structure, with gently integrated peat smoke, maritime influence, a subtle waxy feel and a restrained, rather dry profile shaped by long ageing. Within the broader series, the 38-year-old represents a very composed and confident expression of classic Brora and remains one of the rare releases from the later years of this line.
