Description
Brora 35 Year Old, bottled in 2012, is one of the rare official releases from the distillery’s long silent period. It forms part of the well-known sequence of annual Brora bottlings that ran from 2002 to 2017, a series consisting of 16 editions in total. The 2012 release was produced in 1,566 bottles and comes entirely from spirit made before the 1983 closure, preserving the original Brora style. In the glass it shows maturity and calm composure, with a structured, rather dry profile, understated peat smoke, maritime influence, a gentle waxy feel and well-integrated oak that reflects its age without overwhelming it. Within the context of the full series, this 35-year-old stands as an important part of how Brora’s historic character was presented and remembered before the distillery returned to life.
